Premier IT's load-balanced, fully redundant network provides the ideal foundation for shared applications hosting. All our clients' web applications are hosted alongside each other, and access is controlled using secure segregation technology of the server operating system. Clients can then access their own applications securely, and in isolation of other applications on the network.
Our hosting environment uses two-tier architecture, where the applications and databases are managed separately. The architecture also includes an optional 'acceleration' tier, which is utilised where the application's performance is likely to be improved. Typically this would be used where there are significant amounts of static content, as opposed to application pages.
Each tier includes both of the following features, illustrated by horizontal dotted lines in the above diagram.
Load balancing
When all servers are operating normally, load is shared and distributed evenly across the network. This helps to ensure maximum performance, and to reduce the impact of a sudden spike in demand for any one application.
Redundancy
There is no single point of failure; should a server suddenly fail or need to be taken out of service for maintenance, its role can be taken over almost instantly by another server. This includes real-time data replication where relevant; for example, should a database server fail, another can take over instantly and will have an absolutely up-to-date copy of all data. This offers our clients a fully robust disaster recovery (DR) strategy.
Hosting facilities
Our hosting infrastructure is located in a state-of-the-art London data centre, with outstanding facilities such as highly redundant power provision and high levels of security.
Ongoing CMS training can also be provided to new employees or those needing a refresh.
Our additional experience in cloud computing and IT training puts us in an ideal situation to support your website on an ongoing basis.
